OAKLEY, KAN. – The Logan County Healthcare Foundation’s 31st annual Drive for Health Benefit Golf Tournament was held Friday, June 6th, at the Oakley Country Club. We had excellent participation in our event, which included thirty teams registered and the day of the tournament we had twenty-nine teams participating in the Annual Golf Tournament! With the combined sponsorship of the Golf Tournament and the Silent Auction the Foundation made over $22,000 for this year’s Benefit Golf Tournament.

Rounding out the day, we recognized our winners. Winning the Championship Flight was the team of Farm Bureau Financial Services, Second Place in the Championship Flight was the team of Eli Kuhlman, First Place in the First Flight was the team of Nancy Kuhlman, and Second Place in the First Flight was the team of Jerrad Zerr. All teams graciously gave back their winnings to the Foundation!
Other prizes awarded at the end of the day included the prize of a gift certificate for four to the Oakley’s Family Fun Center. This prize awarded for the most mulligans purchased throughout the day and the winner of that prize with the most mulligans was the Farm Bureau Financial Services Team! Other prizes awarded for the day went to those with the longest putts on Holes 1, 6, 8, and 9 and the longest putt prizes went to Clay Henderson, Bill Stewart, Bob Kuhlman, and Derek Elliott. Thank you to Farm Bureau Financial Services and Oakley’s Family Fun Center for donating the prizes for our winners! The mission of the Logan County Healthcare Foundation is to enhance local health care services by providing scholarships, sponsoring health education and awareness programs, upgrading technology and providing medical equipment, and assisting in the recruitment of medical professionals. Since its creation in 1993, the Logan County Healthcare Foundation has funded projects totaling over $1.8 million. The Logan County Healthcare Foundation’s funding recipients include: Logan County Health Department, Healthy Logan County, Logan County Senior Living, Logan County Hospital, New Frontier’s Health Services, City of Oakley, Fair Board, Logan County EMS, Oakley Police Department, Mitten’s Urgent Care Clinic, Buffalo Bill Cultural Center, Oakley Heath Mart Pharmacy, Logan County Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Logan County Transportation Services, Oakley Park Development Project, Bikes for Kids, Oakley Public Schools, Oakley Elementary PTO, Tri-Plains, St. Joseph Elementary School, Oakley Public Library, Western Vista Complex, Oakley Swimming Pool, Logan County Extension, and Cardiac Rehab. The Logan County Healthcare Foundation is funded entirely through private means. This funding comes from tax credits, fundraising activities, donations and planned giving. Fundraising activities include a Memorial Tree during the Christmas Season, The Fall Gala, and the Golf Tournament and Silent Auction. Donations to the foundation can be set up as planned giving through an estate or trust, made as a memorial or in the giver’s choice.
